Asset Performance
Flood Operations are at the forefront of the management of our flood and coastal risk management flood defence assets.
These roles will provide the opportunity to build new knowledge and experience in the management of flood & coastal risk assets, which include riverbanks, sluice gates and flood storage reservoirs. Focusing on helping to manage our asset data to ensure it is of the best quality and can be relied on to inform our future investment programme. This may include site work to understand our asset base and to collect, analyse and interpret information to ensure we manage it well.
Incident Management forms a crucial part of the job. We respond to incidents in our incident rooms and in our communities.
Current Opportunities
Flood Asset Performance Officer
Manage flood and coastal risk assets in a specific area, ensuring their safe and efficient operation to reduce flood risk. Engage in maintenance, projects, and support internal/external stakeholders. Contribute to improving our Asset Management System and maintaining ISO55000 accreditation.
Support flood risk management, including strategic planning, permitting, enforcement, and asset portfolio management. Respond to flood incidents and provide business continuity support. Incident role may require additional training and alternative working arrangements.

Flood Asset Performance Team Member
You will actively manage flood and coastal risk assets, ensuring their safe and efficient operation to reduce flood risk. Your positive outlook and enthusiasm will drive solutions and enable inspections, surveys, maintenance, and operations that safeguard people and property. Engage in maintenance projects, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the continual improvement of our Asset Management System and ISO55000 accreditation. Support flood risk management, strategic planning, permitting, enforcement, asset portfolio management, and respond to flood incidents. Your role may involve incident response and business continuity support, with additional payment, training, and flexible arrangements provided.

Technical/Data Support
The Technical/Data Support role encompasses various responsibilities, such as producing risk management paperwork for routine maintenance, managing and maintaining asset data, responding to customer data requests, supporting incident response paperwork, assisting with projects, completing work orders, producing hazard maps, liaising with landowners for site visits and inquiries, managing files and records, and conducting utilities and land registry searches.

We’re involved in the whole lifecycle of our assets from planning, delivery and maintenance, to responding to incidents and decommissioning. It also means managing the effects of climate change.
