Job description
Do you want to shape how the Environment Agency organises itself to deliver the ambitions of EA2030? The Business Planning and Performance team turns strategy into delivery. We enable the Environment Agency to deliver its corporate strategy through robust business planning and a customer focused approach that is driven by data, insight and performance.
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to lead a series of high impact improvement initiatives within our Business Planning and Performance function, initially with a focus on organisational design. Working at pace, you will help design future operating models, systems, services and governance arrangements that enable the organisation to deliver its strategy and business plans effectively.
This role works closely with core Defra, Defra Finance, policy teams and senior leaders across the Environment Agency. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that business planning, financial planning and organisational design are tightly aligned, underpinning clear, evidence based decision making across the organisation.

- A change leader, capable of influencing and inspiring across all levels
- Skilled in systems thinking, with the ability to see the bigger picture and connect the dots
- A strong networker, confident in engaging senior stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
- Experience in business planning and performance is helpful, but not essential—what matters most is your ability to lead, learn, and adapt
