As part of the Operations Catchment Services (OCS) Water Resources & Strategic Planning Team, you will work with, and support colleagues in ensuring that Water Companies have robust & resilient strategic plans to ensure resilient water supplies for the future, whilst protecting and enhancing the environment.
The Water Resources officer data role will:
- Support on data quality and assurance to validate and collate Water Company data submissions for statutory water company plans and water company performance measures.
- Support on the development of data tools and products to allow colleagues to more easily interpret data. Water resources data is used for data analysis to review water company strategic plans and performance and support other important work areas, such as the National Framework.
- You will be organised, a self-starter and able to manage and balance your work tasks and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
In addition, you will:
- Work across the wider OCS team to support national consistency on water resources planning data, working alongside our water company leads.
- Support delivery of training for national water resources planning data.
- Support with problem solving data quality issues.
- Work with the Water Resources planning programme leads to ensure our approach to data meets national requirements.
- Support the National Programmes team to manage the delivery of the programmes across Water Resources planning.

The role will require some travel to Environment Agency sites, external meetings and occasional overnight stays.
You’ll join our Operations Catchment Services Water Resources Team. We lead on strategic water resources planning and performance.

- Experience of achieving tasks against timescales.
- Experience of data systems such as Excel, Power BI, with wider skills such as GIS being an advantage
- Knowledge of statutory Water Resource planning is advantageous

You’ll have an EA Office base location, as a national role the working location is flexible / hybrid.
